A woman is dead after being shot at her home in Hamlin, New York. The incident happened earlier today in the 1300 block of Monroe-Orleans County Line Road in Hamlin. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded to the location around 2:23 p.m. on April 25, 2024 for a report of a woman found deceased in her home.

MCSO believes the woman succumbed to injuries sustained from a gunshot wound. Another resident was found inside the home suffering from injuries. The second victim was transported to an area hospital in critical condition. The MCSO Major Crimes Unit will be investigating the matter.

Authorities believe the crime is isolated inside the home and there is no risk to the public.
