A male suspect has been shot by deputies with the Knox County Sheriff’s Office. KCSO reports that deputies were attempting to negotiate with a male suspect with a gun at Clayton Park on Norris Freeway around 4:30 p.m. on May 8.

At some point, the suspect was shot by deputies. KCSO says the circumstances leading up to the shooting are being investigated. The investigation will be led by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation. The suspect was transported to an area hospital for treatment.

At this time, the extent of the suspect’s injuries is not known. KCSO says no known officer injuries were reported. No additional details are available at this time.
