A suspect is dead following an officer-involved shooting in Lakewood. The Lakewood Police Department reports that a menacing and carjacking led to an agent-involved shooting in Lakewood this morning. Around 10:27 a.m., LPD officers responded to the Walmart at 440 Wadsworth Boulevard.

Staff at the store informed authorities that an adult male was threatening them with a gun. They told authorities that the incident happened between five and seven minutes before they called police and the suspect fled on foot. Around 10:31 a.m., LPD officers responded to the area of West 4th Avenue and Zephyr Street for a carjacking.

The victim told authorities she was sitting in a minivan when a man pointed a gun at her and ordered her out of the vehicle. The suspect fled the scene in the stolen minivan.
