Walnut Creek man arrested for attempting to kidnap a child at a Walnut Creek library

A Walnut Creek transient has been arrested for attempting to kidnap a child at a downtown library. According to the Walnut Creek Police Department, 27-year-old Marc Simon was arrested and charged with two counts of lewd act upon a child, attempted kidnapping for child molesting, and possession of over 600 images of child pornography.

WCPD officers and detectives arrested Simon in connection with an attempted kidnapping of a child at a library on North Broadway. The incident reportedly happened on April 11. WCPD says officers and detectives identified Simon as the suspect and arrested him. Simon was booked into the County Jail with bail set at $2,000,000.
