The Corbin Police Department has apprehended a Knoxville murder suspect. Earlier today, CPD announced on social media that its officers responded to a report of a vehicle in a ditch.

At the scene, Patrolman Patrick determined that the operator of the vehicle was under the influence. The driver was placed under arrest. CPD says it was later discovered that the individual was a suspect in a murder in Knoxville, Tennessee.

An out-of-state warrant was served on the suspect at the Whitley County Detention Center. 49-year-old Michael Merrick was charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle under the Influence of Alcohol and served with the fugitive warrant.
