Update 5/10 – Kansas City Police have identified the female killed on Tuesday evening as LaToya Seamster. KCKPD says Seamster was a resident of Kansas City, Kansas. An adult male suspect remains behind bars at this time. No other details are available.

Original – A man is behind bars and a woman is dead in Kansas City’s tenth homicide of the year. The Kansas City Kansas Police Department reports that officers responded to the 1900 block of North Hallock around 11:44 p.m. on May 7, 2024.

KCKPD says a man walked into the emergency room at KUMC and told officers he had killed someone. At the scene, officers found a woman deceased inside a residence from a gunshot wound.

The man was taken into custody. The KCKPD Major Case Unit is investigating the murder. No additional details are available at this time.
