Update – Kansas City Police is investigating homicide on State Avenue. Around 7:51 p.m. on March 28, 2024, Kansas City Police responded to the 3700 block of State Avenue for a report of a shooting. At the scene, two males were found with gunshot wounds inside a vehicle. One male was pronounced deceased. The other victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

KCP has identified the deceased victim as Chris Jones of Kansas City, Kansas.

Original Story – The Kansas City Police Department is currently investigating a double shooting that claimed one life. According to a media release from KCKPD, detectives are working on a double shooting that left one person dead. Around 7:51 p.m. on March 28, 2024, officers were dispatched to the 3700 block of State Avenue for a report of a shooting.

At the scene, KCKPD found two male victims inside a vehicle suffering from gunshot wounds. One victim was pronounced deceased at the scene. The second victim was transported to an area hospital in stable condition. The KCKPD Major Case Unit is investigating the shooting.
