Del Rey Oaks Police arrest man on warrants and for having burglary tools

The Del Rey Oaks Police Department has arrested a suspect who was in possession of burglary tools. According to DROPD, officers carried out a traffic stop on a suspicious vehicle linked to a burglary case from March 13, 2024. The driver pulled over once they were ordered to stop.

Del Rey Oaks Police Department officers learned that the driver, Julio Armendariz, had warrants out of Monterey County. He was arrested without incident. Authorities say a search revealed numerous burglary tools in the vehicle and on Armendariz’s person. Police found “shaved keys” which are regularly used for lock picking.

Authorities say the modus operandi of the previous burglary two weeks ago indicated a similar method was used to break into the victim’s work truck. Armendariz was booked into the Monterey County Jail for the outstanding warrants, possession of burglary tools, and other charges.
