A child was fatally shot in Seattle, Washington on Wednesday evening. Two people have been detained. The Seattle Police Department reports that its Homicide Detectives are investigating the death of a child in Magnolia.

SPD officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 3000 block of 21st Avenue West around 6:30 p.m. on May 8, 2024. At the scene, responding officers found an adult female who reported her child had been shot.

Seattle Fire Department personnel reached the scene and pronounced the child deceased. The Homicide Unit and Crime Scene Investigation Unit responded to investigate. SPD says two subjects were detained to be interviewed by detectives.
