Seminole County Sheriff’s Office investigating shooting at the Cabana Live event venue

A shooting occurred at the Cabana Live event venue at 4380 Carraway Pl. The Seminole County Sheriff’s Office is now investigating the shooting. According to SCSO, its detectives are investigating the shooting that left multiple people injured.

Deputies responded to the venue in unincorporated Sanford just after midnight to establish an area patrol due to a large crowd of approximately 200 people. SCSO says the event was promoted as “No One Leaves Sober” and did not have the necessary event permit.

After reaching the scene, deputies heard multiple gunshots coming from the rear of the establishment a short time later. Deputies made their way into the venue where they learned that an armed security officer had successfully apprehended the suspected shooter, 16-year-old Christopher Bouie of Daytona Beach.

Ten people suffered non-life-threatening injuries as a result of the shooting. Nine victims have been released from the hospital. SCSO says the incident started as a physical altercation. At some point, Bouie allegedly produced a handgun and fired multiple rounds into a crowd of people.

SCSO later determined that a second unidentified shooter returned fire shooting five more rounds. Bouie was apprehended on the scene. He is being held at the Juvenile Detention Center on charges of Possession of a Firearm by a Minor, Use and Display of a Firearm During a Felony, Firing a Weapon on Public Property, and Attempted Homicide.

SCSO continues searching for the second gunman.
