A man has been taken into custody following a barricaded suspect situation that spanned multiple hours. The Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office reports that deputies responded to the 200 block of Bridge Street in Fairview around 3:30 p.m. on May 9 after a 911 call from a homeowner.

The caller informed authorities that an unknown man was trying to enter their residence. The caller and the home’s other occupants managed to exit the home before meeting deputies nearby.

MCSO says deputies established a perimeter to contain the suspect who was believed to have access to weapons. East Metro Special Weapons and Tactics (SWAT) responded to the scene. After an arrest warrant was obtained, SWAT entered the residence and took the suspect into custody around 11 p.m.

The suspect will not be identified until they are booked into the Multnomah County Jail.
