Authorities have taken a suspect into custody as part of an ongoing investigation into the sexual exploitation of a child. The suspect is facing multiple felony counts. The Mountain Village Police Department reports that an arrest was made on April 24, 2024.

The arrest follows a tip from the Internet Crimes Against Children task force in December. The tip indicated that an individual had downloaded child sexual exploitation material using an IP address in Mountain Village. MVPD and the San Miguel County Sheriff’s Office arrested Ericnakoma Osterwald in Norwood, Colorado on April 24.

MVPD stresses that there is no evidence indicating that child sexual abuse or child molestation occurred or that the victims were local.
