This morning, police responded to a call about a home invasion robbery and found a man suffering from a gunshot wound. The man is dead and authorities are investigating the fatal shooting.

The Ceres Police Department says its Communications Center received a call reporting a home invasion robbery at a residence in the 2700 block of Roeding Road around 3:30 a.m. on April 27, 2024.

Officers responded to the scene where they found a 63-year-old man suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. The victim received medical aid at the scene but succumbed to his injuries.

CPD confirms the investigation is ongoing. No one is in custody at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Berlier at 209-538-5616.
