Gregory Goldstein arrested for stabbing that left victim with serious injuries

A man has been arrested in connection to a stabbing in Norwalk, Connecticut. The stabbing left a victim with serious injuries. In a social media post, the Norwalk Police Department said Combined Dispatch received a call about a stabbing in the area of 129 South Main Street around 3 p.m. on April 26, 2024.

Patrol Officers responded to the scene where they found the victim being treated by a bystander. Aid was rendered until the victim was transported to Norwalk Hospital for treatment of serious injuries. NPD detectives assumed control of the investigation.

Detectives say they found multiple pieces of evidence, interviewed witnesses, and reviewed video surveillance. Detectives have identified Gregory Goldstein as the person responsible for the stabbing. It was reported that Goldstein left the scene in a Honda Odyssey minivan.

Around 7:35 p.m. that evening, a Connecticut State Police Trooper located Goldstein’s van and followed it on Interstate 95 while waiting for backup. The Trooper and Westport Police Department officers stopped the vehicle and detained Goldstein who was a passenger in the vehicle.

26-year-old Gregory Goldstein of Norwalk is charged with Assault in the First Degree and Breach of Peace in the Second Degree.
