Early morning hit-and-run crash leaves victim deceased in Jessup Maryland

An early morning hit-and-run crash left a victim deceased. The Howard County Police Department is attempting to identify the driver responsible. HCPD says a pedestrian was struck and killed in Jessup.

Around 3:03 a.m. on April 29, 2024, a dark sedan was traveling south on Washington Boulevard at Patuxent Range Road when it collided with an adult male crossing the road.

HCPD says the driver of the sedan did not stop. The pedestrian was seriously injured and pronounced deceased at the scene.

Based on the preliminary investigation, authorities do not believe the pedestrian was in a crosswalk. As a result of the collision, a portion of Washington Boulevard was closed for three and  a half hours.
