Dallas Police investigating three homicides this week

The Dallas Police Department is investigating three new homicides this week. The first incident occurred on April 29, 2024 around 7 a.m. DPD officers responded to the 3200 block of Reed Lane where they found 43-year-old Lakeisha Simpson deceased.

On April 30, 2024, the Medical Examiner concluded that Simpson had died from homicidal violence. On May 2, 2024 around 6:30 p.m., DPD officers responded to a shooting in the 2000 block of Lewiston Avenue.

The Dallas Police Department reports that 43-year-old LaDerrick Majors was found shot and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Around 7 p.m. on May 2, 2024, DPD officers responded to a shooting at the intersection of North Masters Drive and Carolina Oaks Drive.

DPD says a minor vehicle accident happened at the intersection. Following the crash, people not involved started fighting and an unknown individual started shooting. Three people were struck.

A 16-year-old victim was transported to an area hospital where they passed away. A second victim was shot in the foot and was taken to the hospital in stable condition. The third victim self-transported to an area hospital with minor injuries.
