Chicago Police Detectives looking for man who attempted to kidnap a 15-year-old female

Detectives with the Chicago Police Department are attempting to identify the man who tried to kidnap a 15-year-old girl at a bus stop. According to the Chicago Police Department, the incident happened around 8:19 a.m. on April 18, 2024.

A young girl was waiting at a bus stop in the 3600 block of North Central Avenue when a man demanded she get into his car. CPD says the man threatened to grab the girl and put her in the car.

An adult female intervened and told the suspect to leave the victim alone. The subject reportedly stated he knew the girl. The subject continued driving southbound on Central Avenue.

The offender is described as a white or Hispanic man around 28 to 30 years old. He had brown hair and a goatee with a thin build and brown skin. CPD says the subject spoke English and Spanish.

The suspect vehicle was recorded on cameras driving westbound on Foster Avenue before turning southbound on Central Avenue. The vehicle is described as a mid-1990s yellow Corvette with a black convertible top.
