A man is dead following a shooting at a business on West Military Highway. The Chesapeake Police Department is investigating the fatal shooting. CPD reports that officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 5100 block of West Military Highway just before 6:30 p.m. on May 5.

CPD says the suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. An adult male victim was transported to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. The investigation is active and ongoing.
