The Austin Police Department has identified the victim in the fatal shooting in the 1700 block of Rutland Drive on Sunday night. In a news release, APD identified the victim as Lowen Alberto Ordonez Lobo.

Around 8:37 p.m. on April 28, APD officers responded to a shots fired call at the Villas Del Sol apartments. Officers and Austin-Travis County Emergency Medical Services personnel reached the scene and found an adult male victim suffering from gunshot wounds.

APD says Lobo was pronounced deceased around 8:49. Homicide detectives and Crime Scene Specialists responded to process the scene and interview witnesses. At this time, no other information is available.

The homicide is being investigated as the city’s 18th homicide of 2024.
