38-year-old Hispanic male arrested following stabbing in Culver City

A 38-year-old Hispanic man is behind bars following a stabbing incident in Culver City on Sunday. The Culver City Police Department reports that its officers responded to the 6100 block of Slauson Avenue around 2:45 p.m. on May 5 for multiple calls of an altercation in the parking lot.

At the scene, responding officers found a female victim who had been stabbed multiple times. The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. CCPD says the victim is currently in stable condition.

CCPD officers immediately set up a perimeter and searched the area for the suspect. Officers found the suspect hiding in bushes at Cougar Park near Hannum Avenue and Slauson Avenue. CCPD officers apprehended the suspect without incident.

CCPD says the preliminary investigation indicates that the suspect confronted the victim in the parking lot, stabbed her multiple times, and fled the scene. Authorities recovered a knife believed to have been used in the attack.

The suspect’s identity is not being released at this time. CCPD only describes the suspect as a 38-year-old Hispanic male. The suspect was booked into the Culver City Police Department jail for attempted murder.
