A woman is dead following a shooting in Charlotte, North Carolina. The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department reports that its officers responded to an assault with a deadly weapon call in the 4100 block of Glenwood Drive around 10:21 p.m. on June 16, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found a female victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where she succumbed to her injuries. Homicide Unit detectives have responded to the scene to investigate.
