The Austin Police Department is investigating a homicide in the 1700 block of Rutland Drive. In a video statement, Senior Police Officer L. Ratliff said that multiple 911 calls were received about a possible shoot-stab hot shot around 8:39 p.m. on Sunday.
It was reported that someone had been shot. APD officers reached the scene around 8:43 p.m. and found the victim who had obvious signs of trauma. Life-saving measures were taken, but the victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene.
The victim is described as a Hispanic male in his 30s. APD’s Homicide Unit is on the scene investigating. It is believed that this is an isolated incident and there is no threat to the public. No suspect information is available.
