The Robeson County Sheriff’s Office has arrested 24-year-old Shyheim Devonte Alford in connection to the death of 23-year-old Terry Leach Jr. RCSO reports that Alford is charged with First-Degree Murder, Discharging a Firearm into Occupied Property, and Assault with a Deadly Weapon with a Minor Present.

Around 5:30 p.m. on June 27, 2024, RCSO deputies responded to the 1300 block of Wiregrass Road in Lumberton for a report of an individual shot. At the scene, deputies found Leach suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim succumbed to his injuries.

Alford is being held in the Robeson County Detention Center with no bond. Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact RCSO at 910-671-3170.
