On Saturday night, the Ocala Police Department confirmed it was investigating a homicide that claimed one life. OPD reports that its officers responded to a fatal shooting in the 1500 block of Northwest 20th Avenue around 10:38 p.m. on June 29, 2024.

At the scene, officers found one person deceased. Detectives responded to investigate the fatal shooting. OPD does not believe there is any risk to the public. No other details are available at this time.
