On November 13, 2023, Louisiana Tech Police responded to a disturbance outside Lambright Health and Wellness Center on the campus of Louisiana Tech. A 23-year-old male allegedly stabbed four females.

Louisiana State Police Bureau of Investigation assumed the investigation at the request of the Louisiana Tech PD. Two of the four victims sustained several injuries, one of which was later pronounced deceased at an area hospital.

The suspect, identified as Jacoby Johnson, has been charged with three counts of second-degree attempted murder and one count of second-degree murder. Johnson has been remanded in the Lincoln Parish Detention Center on a no-bond status.
