Pennsylvania man Geoffrey Kay-Conway arrested after failed plot to kidnap, rape, and murder estranged wife

Montgomery County District Attorney Kevin R. Steele and Upper Merion Township Police Chief Thomas Nolan have announced the arrest of a King of Prussia man for Attempted murder, Attempted Kidnapping, Attempted Rape, and other charges in connection to an assault on his estranged wife on November 19, 2023. The incident happened while an active Protection From Abuse Order was active.

The assault occurred around 10:45 AM on November 19, 2023 in the parking lot of the Walmart on North Gulph Road in King of Prussia. Upper Merion Township Police responded to a 911 call regarding a domestic assault in progress with a man attacking a woman in a Nissan Rogue. Police found the victim in the parking lot. The victim had escaped her vehicle after being stabbed in the leg multiple times allegedly by 52-year-old Geoffrey Kay-Conway Sr.

When authorities arrested Kay-Conway in a nearby parking lot, they say they found a large metal pick sticking out of his sweatshirt pocket and black zip ties in the shape of handcuffs. A black duffle bag in a nearby pickup truck reportedly contained a black pepperball gun with two magazines, three piercing tools, a blindfold, duct tape, zip ties, knives, wire cutters, pliers, other tools, KY jelly, a Court Order, and a manila envelope with a note addressed to Kay-Conway’s brother.

Police say the Court Order was issued after a PFA violation hearing on October 31, 2023, with the defendant being released on a $5,000 unsecured bond. On the bottom of the order, the defendant had allegedly written, ““…I Have 1.5 months to Kill that B****. Could have Killed her 17 times if i wanted. What a week system.”

The two-page note in the manila envelope was written on orange paper and was labeled “read last”. According to authorities, the note started with, “Well by now Michelle and I are both dead. So there really is nothing to worry about. Listen tell everyone, there is nothing anybody could have done.”

Police say the investigation found that Kay-Conway had installed a tracking device on the victim’s vehicle and followed her to the Walmart parking lot where he assaulted and attempted to abduct her. Kay-Conway has been charged with Attempted Murder, Attempted Kidnapping, Attempted Rape, Aggravated Assault, Stalking, Unlawful Restraint, False Imprisonment, Possessing an Instrument of Crime, and other related charges. Kay-Conway has been denied bail according to a press release from the Office of the District Attorney.
