Greenville Police arrest two in connection to homicide at hotel on Highway 82 East

The Greenville Police Department has announced the arrests of two in connection to a homicide. Around 3:30 a.m. on March 3, 2024, police responded to a hotel in the 2500 block of Highway 82 East in reference to shots being fired.

At the scene, officers made contact with a black male who appeared to have been shot in one of the rooms. GPD said witnesses were questioned and further investigation indicated that 21-year-old Jamya Briggs and 24-year-old Samuel Williams were suspects.

Both were arrested and charged with Second Degree Murder. The suspects are being held at the Washington County Regional Correctional Facility.
