A man has been arrested in connection to a March 22nd shooting on Minnesota Avenue in DC. According to the DC Metropolitan Police Department, Sixth District officers arrested a man on April 25. Around 4:30 p.m. on March 22, 2024, the victim was inside a business in the 2400 block of Minnesota Avenue Southeast.
Police say the suspect confronted the victim leading to a physical altercation. The altercation continued outside where the suspect pulled a gun and shot the victim. Following the shooting, the victim fled and sought medical attention at the Sixth Police District Substation.
On April 25, 2024, authorities arrested 30-year-old Calvon Brown of Southeast DC. Brown is charged with Assault with a Dangerous Weapon (Gun). Authorities say they recovered a firearm and ammunition in connection with the arrest.
Brown was also charged with Possession of Unregistered Firearm, Possession of Unregistered Ammunition, and Felon in Possession.
