A Chuckey, Tennessee man is behind bars once again after striking a concrete barrier. The Washington County Sheriff’s Office reports that 43-year-old Billy R. Beasley was arrested and charged with Driving Under the Influence Fifth Offense, Driving on Revoked License, and Resisting Arrest.
Sheriff Keith Sexton says deputies were on Interstate 26 on July 6 when they observed a maroon sedan pull into the emergency lane around 8:30 p.m. The driver, Beasley, allegedly turned the vehicle into the grass and struck a concrete barrier.
Deputies checked on the driver who admitted to consuming three alcoholic beverages while driving. Sheriff Sexton alleges that Beasley refused field sobriety tests and was uncooperative with deputies when they tried to take him into custody.
Beasley was taken to the ground and handcuffed. This is Beasley’s fifth DUI in the past eight years. At the Washington County Detention Center, Beasley consented to a blood draw. At this time, he is being held without bond.
