A 23-year-old man has been charged in connection to the fatal shooting of a 29-year-old Detroit man. The Detroit Police Department reports that 23-year-old Dwaine Hunt III has been charged in the fatal shooting.

On June 4, 2024 around 9:05 p.m., DPD officers responded to a residence in the 19400 block of Warwick Street for a reported shooting. At the scene, officers found the victim lying in the street suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Medics transported the victim to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Authorities allege that a verbal altercation began between Hunt and the victim. At some point, Hunt allegedly robbed the victim of his handgun.

Hunt allegedly produced the handgun and fired it multiple times. Hunt was arrested on July 1, 2024. He is charged with First-Degree Murder, Armed Robbery, and two counts of Felony Firearm.
