Seattle Police arrest suspect for shooting 31-year-old victim in Chinatown-International District

The Seattle Police Department has arrested a 31-year-old suspect in the shooting of a male victim in the Chinatown-International District on Friday night. SPD reports that its officers responded to reports of a man shot in the 600 block of South Main Street around 11:58 p.m. on July 5.

At the scene, officers found an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the chest. Medical aid was provided until the Seattle Fire Department arrived and rendered aid. The 31-year-old victim was eventually taken to Harborview Medical Center in critical condition.

SPD confirms that a firearm was located and seized as evidence. The suspect fled the area in a vehicle. Officers learned that he was in Kent where they arrested him. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail for Investigation of Assault 1st Degree.

SPD says the suspect faces additional weapons violations.
