Wolf Creek man behind bars for kidnapping a mother in Oregon

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has announced the arrest of a Wolf Creek man for kidnapping. According to DCSO, the man was booked into the Douglas County Jail on an array of charges, including kidnapping. Just after 1 p.m. on March 28, 2024, 911 dispatchers received a call from a man who said his mother had been taken against her will.

The victim sent information to her son who provided this information to deputies. DCSO says deputies learned that the suspect, 35-year-old Richard Goodin was driving a 2006 Chevy Silverado pickup which had been reported stolen earlier that day. At some point during the investigation, the victim escaped and called 911.

Deputies obtained an approximate location and converged on the area. Goodin was taken into custody and the victim was taken to safety. Goodin is facing charges of Kidnap in the Second Degree, Possession of a Stolen Vehicle, Unlawful Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Unlawful Possession of Methamphetamine Violation Level.
