80-year-old man charged with allegedly downloading 2600 files of child abuse and bestiality material

A press release from the NSW Police explains that an 80-year-old man has been charged with allegedly possessing child abuse and bestiality material. Police allege that the 80-year-old man downloaded approximately 2,600 files of child abuse and bestiality material between March and August 23, 2023. Investigators carried out a search warrant at a residence in Cordeaux Heights just before 8.30am on October 9, 2023.

Police say several electronic devices were seized, including one desktop computer storing 8.5 years’ worth of continuous high-definition video recordings. Investigators allege that they discovered 449 child abuse videos and 1,080 bestiality videos. The 80-year-old man was arrested and taken to Lake Illawarra Police Station on November 20, 2023.

The man has been charged with 12 counts of possess child abuse material and 7 counts of possess bestiality material. He was refused bail to appear in Wollongong Local Court on November 21.
