The Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office has announced four arrests in the slaying of Violet Evelyn Alberts. According to a media release from SBCSO, detectives have arrested 48-year-old Pauline Macareno, 58-year-old Harry Basmadjian, 33-year-old Henry Rostomyan, and 41-year-old Ricardo MartinDelCampo.
Detectives say they traced Macareno to a series of transactions used to gain control over Alberts’s assets unlawfully. They also say they uncovered evidence that the victim had been targeted in a murder for hire scheme. On May 24, 2022, MartinDelCampo and Rostomyan allegedly carried out a scouting trip.
Macareno was recently sentenced to six years in prison for fraud related to the case. Basmadjian was arrested on January 2, 2024. Henry Rostomyan was arrested on February 27, 2024. On March 5, 2024, Ricardo MartinDelCampo was arrested.
