Officers with the Austin Police Department were dispatched to 2407 S. Congress Avenue on December 7, 2023, around 4:15 p.m. to investigate a report of a disturbance. Upon arrival at the scene, officers found a victim who had been assaulted.

Following an investigation, officers determined the male suspect forced the victim behind a dumpster where he struck the victim multiple times. The suspect threatened the victim with a firearm before fleeing on foot.

The suspect is described as a white male between 45 and 55 years of age with a ponytail, wearing blue jeans, a gray/blue cap, and a blue t-shirt.

Authorities believe the suspect resides in the area of Oltorf Street and South Congress Avenue.
