The Salt Lake City Police Department says it had arrested multiple people after officers responded to a fight in progress at a bar near 1700 South Main Street. SLCPD reports that its officers responded to the location for a fight in progress around 12:45 a.m. on November 2, 2024.
Police say multiple officers responded and attempted to break up the fight. A secondary fight between several people at the bar started as officers tried to address the first incident, according to authorities.
Salt Lake City Police say between 30 and 40 people began fighting with each other and officers. Officers used OC spray to try to contain the incident. Other officers responded to assist.
SLCPD says two officers were injured, but neither needed to go to the hospital for treatment. Police say officers arrested five people who will be booked on various charges including public intoxication and disorderly conduct.
SLCPD has not provided the names or ages of the arrested individuals at this time. No other details are available.
