The York Police Department has announced arrests in connection to the alleged sexual abuse of a minor child within the community on July 17, 2024. YPD says a search warrant was granted by the York County Court. It was carried out at 127 Forest Heights Apartment 404.

Multiple items of evidentiary value were located. 40-year-old Shane Powers was arrested on a charge of First-Degree Sexual Assault of a Child. On July 12, YPD met with an individual wishing to speak with an officer regarding a protection order.

Officers spoke to a female and learned of criminal allegations involving local children. An investigation was initiated. A search warrant was carried out at 1229 North McKaig Avenue on July 18, 2024.

YPD says multiple items of potential evidentiary value were located. 65-year-old Norstad Bergesen was arrested for Criminal Child Enticement. The arrested individuals were booked into the York County Jail.

YPD confirms that the investigation is ongoing.
