The Yakima Police Department is investigating a double shooting on Saturday morning. YPD reports that it received a 911 call about gunshots being fired in the area of Prospect Way and North 66th Avenue around 10:15 a.m. on September 28, 2024.

At the scene, responding officers found two adults suffering from gunshot wounds. A 43-year-old male victim succumbed to his injuries at the scene. A 47-year-old female was transported to a Seattle hospital for treatment.

It is believed that the shooting stemmed from a domestic violence incident that occurred just before the shooting. No other details are available at this time. Anyone with information is asked to contact Detective Scott Gronewald at 509-576-6597.
