According to a press release from the Worcester Police Department, 31-year-old Marcel Santos-Padgett was arrested at 4 Colombia Park in Haverhill, Massachusetts on November 24, 2023. Police say Santos-Padgett had an outstanding arrest warrant for the offense of armed assault to murder. The warrant stemmed from the investigation into the homicide of a female at 383 Pleasant Street.

On November 23, 2023 around 11:37 AM, Worcester Police were dispatched to Angie’s Body Work Spa on Pleasant Street for a report of a female experiencing a possible medical issue. Once officers arrived, they were flagged down by a male who took them to the unconscious female. Officers rendered medical aid until the victim was pronounced deceased by Worcester EMS.

Worcester Police Detectives reached the scene and began investigating. The original press release specified that the death appeared to be suspicious.
