Woman gets more than three years after cutting man’s ear and face with a Stanley knife

A woman has been sentenced to more than three years imprisonment after pleading guilty to grievous bodily harm and possession of a knife in a public place. According to Sussex Police, officers responded to Liverpool Road close to the Montague Centre around 2am on 10 December after a 43-year-old man was assaulted.

It was alleged that 47-year-old Learna Wood had cut off a part of the victim’s ear with a Stanley knife and slashed his face. On 7 February, Wood pleaded guilty to the aforementioned charges. On 27 March, Wood appeared before Lewes Crown Court and received a sentence of three years and six months’ imprisonment.
