The Windsor Police Department has arrested a 26-year-old man after he crashed his vehicle into a power pole on Old Redwood Highway. WPD reports that deputies responded to the 8200 block of Old Redwood Highway for a report of a single-vehicle collision around 10:50 p.m. on June 11, 2024.
At the scene, officers learned the vehicle had crashed into a power pole. Deputies observed the vehicle’s owner, 26-year-old Marco Martinez Chavez, being checked by medical personnel.
Chavez was the only occupant of the Honda Odyssey involved in the collision. After a medical evaluation, deputies began a DUI investigation. Following the investigation, WPD arrested Martinez for DUI.
WPD claims Chavez was driving with a BAC of .23% which is almost three times the legal limit. Chavez was booked into the Sonoma County Main Adult Detention Facility for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol, Being an Unlicensed Driver, and Driving with no Current Auto Insurance.
After posting bail, Chavez was released.
