The Wilmington Police Department is investigating a shooting that occurred on Thursday afternoon. According to a WPD news release, units responded to the 1300 block of Greenfield Street in reference to shots fired around 5:15 p.m. on March 21, 2024. At the scene, responding officers found one person with a gunshot wound.

The victim suffered what is believed to be life-threatening injuries. EMS transported the victim to Novant Health NHRMC where they are in critical condition. The investigation is ongoing. No other details are available at this time.
