The Williamson County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a hit-and-run accident involving a bicycle and a vehicle. WCSO reports that its deputies are on the scene of a hit-and-run involving a bike and a vehicle.

The bicycle rider was taken to an area trauma center in serious condition. WCSO warns that northbound Illinois Route 149 in Hurst will be temporarily closed although a short detour route is available with a minimal delay.

The investigation is ongoing. No other details are available at this time.
