A man has been sentenced to 817 years to life in prison on Friday. Shasta County District Attorney Stephanie A. Bridgett announced that William Mattea was sentenced to more than 817 years to life in prison after being found guilty of 86 child sex assault related charges.

The charges are related to two victims from the age of five in April 2024. Mattea was sentenced on June 14, 2024 by the Honorable Judge Tamara Wood.
