The Will County Sheriff’s Office has announced an arrest in a Homer Glen shooting. Around 10:09 p.m. on February 22, 2024, deputies responded to the 12000 block of Longmeadow Lane for a shooting. While responding to the scene, deputies were informed that the victim fled the scene in a vehicle and was standing by for law enforcement in a church parking lot.

The victim has been identified as a 25-year-old male from Hickory Hills. He suffered a gunshot wound to the back. WCSO said a witness indicated that an argument involving the victim and offender occurred inside a vehicle. The witness said the offender began to strike the victim with the pistol and fired one shot.

The victim was transported to an area hospital with a non-life-threatening injury. Deputies claim the offender is 28-year-old Dominic A. Chiarelli of Homer Glen. Chiarelli was taken into custody without incident.
