Wichita Police Department arrest two suspects in slaying of Daniel McPherson

The Wichita Police Department has announced the apprehension of two suspects in connection to the slaying of 34-year-old Daniel McPherson. Authorities say McPherson was fatally shot in the morning near 1755 East MacArthur. Around 2 AM, the Blackwell Oklahoma Police Department contacted Sedgwick County Dispatch to report a shooting investigation involving two people who had entered a local hospital.

One of them was suffering from a gunshot wound. After discussions with the subjects, Blackwell Police relayed information to the Sedgwick County Dispatch. The Wichita Police Department was alerted and responded to the area of Hydraulic and MacArthur where they found the shooting victim who was later identified as 34-year-old Daniel McPherson.

Officers found McPherson with a gunshot wound to the head. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Homicide investigators responded to investigate. They later traveled to Blackwell, Oklahoma where two suspects are in custody. The preliminary findings indicate that the shooting of McPherson occurred within Wichita’s jurisdiction.
