The Wichita Police Department has announced the arrests of three individuals in connection to a homicide. Around 7:10 p.m. on February 19, 2024, officers responded to a shooting in the 2500 block of South Oliver. Officers learned that two adult females had been struck by gunfire and 1-year-old Taidyn Anderson was also struck. The 1-year-old victim succumbed to his injuries.
WPD Homicide Section investigators assumed control of the investigation. On February 22, 2024, WPD arrested a 17-year-old male, a 25-year-old male, and a 21-year-old male on a charge of Felony Murder. WPD said the 21-year-old suspect is on pre-trial supervision for Criminal Discharge of a Firearm into an Occupied Vehicle. The 25-year-old suspect was on parole for Criminal Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Burglary, Aggravated Assault x2, and Criminal Possession of a Weapon.
The suspects’ identities are not being released at this time.
