The Westminster Police Department has arrested a 19-year-old male suspect in connection to a hit-and-run collision that injured one and killed one. WPD says it responded to a hit-and-run crash in the 2800 block of West 72nd Avenue around 8 p.m. on September 1, 2024.
At the scene, responding officers learned that two pedestrians were hit. A 46-year-old female and a 52-year-old male were transported to an area hospital with serious injuries. The female victim later succumbed to her injuries.
The male victim remains in critical condition, according to WPD. The suspect had fled the scene but was quickly located by WPD officers. Authorities say a 19-year-old male suspect was taken into custody on hit-and-run charges.
Alcohol and/or drugs are not believed to be a factor in the crash, according to authorities. Additional charges are possible.
