A person has been shot in West Haven. The West Haven Police Department is at the scene investigating the incident. WHPD reports that officers are at the scene of a shooting at a residence on Peck Avenue near Atwater Street.
Officers have closed the area until the investigation concludes. Locals are asked to avoid this portion of Peck Avenue for the time being. WHPD says the preliminary reports suggest that one person was shot.
The victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury as a result. The Detective Division has assumed control of the investigation. Authorities believe the shooting is isolated and there is no threat to the public. No other details are available at this time.
