The West Fargo Police Department is currently investigating a shooting at Prairie Heights Church at 319 32nd Avenue E. WFPD reports that its officers responded to a shots fired call at the church around 7:48 a.m. on August 17, 2024.

At the scene, officers were told that an altercation had taken place between three individuals. At some point during the encounter, one person sustained a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to an area hospital where they were pronounced deceased.

The victim is not being identified at this time. The second victim was taken to an area hospital with severe, non-life-threatening injuries. WFPD does not believe there is an active threat to the public.
